Its reach was wide, and those who ruled there goverened all, the world over. It was a holy place, looked to for guidance and protection in times of strife. This kingdom was known as Del'Mond...
But not all were satisfied with the holy kingdom and its ways. There were those who sought dissention, chaos, and destruction. Many attempted to bring the kingdom down, yet only one individual came close to doing so, at least as far as we know...the archmage, Stragus Markal.
With his legions of demons and the power of his dark magic, Stragus brought death and despair to the people of our world wherever he treaded. Lush forests, once green with life, were turned to ash. Pristine lakes and rivers either dried or became stained red with the blood of the fallen. It seemed all hope was lost, and that victory was within his grasp. Entire armies fell before his might time and again, with none surviving the battles except for Stragus and his minions.
None that is, until the king of Del'Mond ordered his most faithful servants to finally put the evil mage down.

These five warriors would face Stragus Markal and his dark army alone. Many believed the king was foolhardy, and that the warriors who followed his orders would find nothing but their own demise in the battle to come. How could five prevail where thousands had failed before?
But prevail they did. After days of fighting, the war wrought by Stragus finally came to an end. His dark army seemingly vanished the moment his life came to an end. The world was free'd once more, and peace came back to the land.
The forests grew back, and the lakes and rivers no longer ran red. Harmony rang out across the land, and none spoke of the evils brought by Stragus Markal.
But what happened to that ancient kingdom? What became of the five heroes after Stragus was defeated?
There are none today who know...but the memory of Ancient War lives on.
